How would you describe your personal style?
Laid back with clean cuts! At the same time, I think it’s fun to use clothes to play with identities. Sometimes I want to be a dad in chinos and loafers, sometimes I want to play office in a suit. Sometimes I want to feel more masculine than I maybe actually am… maybe I’ll start wearing dresses soon, I don't know.
Life is so short, and you never really get to know yourself anyway, so you might as well keep trying things out…
Do you have a style icon?
David Bowie, I think. Or Paul Newman. But definitely Jean-Luc Godard.
My late uncle Yngve is also a role model of mine. He looked for beauty in everything. A true aesthete. I remember seeing him at our country house, walking back from the mailbox with the morning paper under his arm, wearing a short-sleeved shirt, jeans, barefoot, with his glasses pushed up onto his forehead… He winked at me with a secret little smile on his lips. The king of cool.
Which pieces do you reach for the most in your wardrobe?
My midnight-blue cashmere sweater. A perfect pair of corduroy trousers. Not too tight, not too loose. A perfect T-shirt. And my favourite shirt.
How do you put together a look that can take you from work to dinner with friends?
Since I don’t have a dress code at work, I’m quite happy to wear a suit even to dinner with the neighbours! Life is a game, and I think it’s fun to honour the little moments that make everyday life feel special.
Adam styles Damian Twill Coat with Andrew Yak Sweater, Milo Trousers and High Derby Leather Shoes.
What does quality mean to you when choosing pieces that are built to last?
If you pay more for your clothes, you tend to think your purchases through a little more carefully, and you use the pieces more. Fast fashion can fuck off once and for all. It brings nothing good into the world.
As the season turns, which pieces are you looking forward to wearing again this autumn?
The cashmere sweater, again! The whole layering thing is great too. A coat, loafers, corduroy trousers, a scarf. Maybe I’ll finally find a beanie I actually like, too.
Where do you feel most like yourself - Stockholm, on stage, or somewhere else entirely?
I feel at home on stage. I love pretending to be someone else. I feel good on Södermalm too. I like sitting in my office with a cup of coffee. I feel at home on the sofa. But I love travelling. On a train between two European cities, I might feel most like myself.
