CEO OF COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK
During Copenhagen Fashion Week AW20, Celilie unveiled the much anticipated sustainability action plan for 2020-22. Designed to not only express the importance of sustainability suring CPFW, it more importantly encourages the industry to accelerate urgent and necessary changes to prepare for the future. “All industry players – including fashion weeks – have to be accountable for their actions and be willing to change the way business is done,” stated Cecilie, adding: “There can be no status quo.” From January 2023, Copenhagen Fashion Week will introduce ambitious minimum sustainability requirements, so if you are a fashion brand you are either in or you’re out.

“Our role as a fashion week should change – fashion weeks not only should, but must go from being a traditional event, showcasing shows and exhibitions, to being a platform that can actually drive industry change.” – Cecilie Thorsmark
