Outerwear made with recycled textiles

Introducing new outerwear for Autumn/Winter 2025, made partially from our own production textile waste by our partner mill, Manteco. We started sending scraps to the Tuscan family-owned mill in 2020, in an effort to close our own circle and develop new fabrics from waste. Using their experience and expertise as a foundation, Manteco constantly strive to innovate with new solutions, progressively adapting to the modern-day needs of the industry.

The Process

After cutting pattern pieces from FILIPPA K wool outerwear and suiting, the remaining fabric is sent for recycling at Manteco.
FILIPPA K cutting waste is combined with offcuts from other pre- and post-consumer sources and recycled into new yarns.
The family-owned mill combines expertise from the Prato tradition of working with wool with the latest recycling technology to produce new fabric from the recycled yarns.
Instead of being dyed, different offcut colours are blended together to create the desired shade of fabric.
Manteco weaves these recycled yarns into the fabric that FILIPPA K uses for outerwear styles. In the end, roughly 15-20% of the material is made from our production scraps.
