Filippa K has opened a new boutique in Leuven, Belgium. With 100 m2 of floor space, and designed according to the new innovative store concept, the new boutique will be an ample showcase for Filippa K’s women’s and men’s collections.

PRESS Filippa K is pleased to announce the opening of its fourth store in Belgium on Aldestraat 59 in Hasselt. Located in an up-and-coming trendy area of the central city, the store is the 40th Filippa K store to open worldwide.

Designed by long-time partner Aaro Arkitekter, the architectural idea for the 260 square-meter space has been to create an openness to the city and its light, while respecting the building’s inherent qualities and using sustainable natural materials.

Large windows and a corner entrance open up to a light-drenched central room with a six meter ceiling height creating a feeling of serenity.

A peaceful changing area faces a small green courtyard where visitors can sit down and relax or quietly wander around. Concrete floors and materials such as oak, wool and plaster polished walls have been used to create a space that combines stylistic simplicity with a qualitative ambience.

”We are very pleased to open our fourth Belgian store – the market has become of such great importance to us that we are happy to expand further” – says Patrik Kihlborg, CEO.

The store will carry a full range of the women’s and men’s collections as well as the shoe, bag and accessory line from Filippa K – a brand known for its Scandinavian simplicity and coherent design philosophy in fashion as well as architecture and artwork.

The store is set to open in September with an exclusive opening event on Thursday, 18th of September 2008.

third concept store in Belgium

PRESS Filippa K is launching a unique concept store in Brussels, its third store in Belgium. The new store will offer the full range of Filippa K women’s and men’s fashion, shoes and accessories. With more stores planned for the future, Filippa K continues its expansion in Belgium and Europe.

Following two successful Filippa K concept stores in Antwerp, Filippa K now opens a unique new concept store on Rue Antoine Dansaertstraat 40-42, one of Brussels’ most happening streets. The new store will carry the entire product range from Filippa K – known for a distinct Scandinavian design style that combines minimal urban elegance with high fashion. “We’re thrilled to open this new concept store in such a perfect location in Brussels.

Carefully designed by Aaro Arkitekter, the unusual architecture of the 250 m2 store compellingly reflects the marquee Filippa K design principles of ”timeless simplicity with contemporary edge”. There is a playful urban roughness to the space that has been juxtaposed with clean, calm interiors to create a unique atmosphere of style, simplicity and quality.

The store’s unique outline is a 40 meters long sequence of rooms with varying shapes and light designs. From the entrance on the street, the store runs like a river across two backyards all the way to another building across the yard. Inside, there is a tranquil ambience of minimalistic elegance with generous skylights, subdued white walls and natural materials.

The new store will have an exclusive grand opening tonight for some 300 specially selected guests from the Brussels fashion, media, music and art scene.
