Rotterdam
new concept store
PRESS Swedish fashion label Filippa K continues its Dutch expansion by opening a uniquely designed concept store in Rotterdam. The Netherlands has become the company’s largest market outside Scandinavia and more Dutch stores are planned for the future.
Following two successful Filippa K concept stores in Amsterdam, Filippa K continues to expand in the Netherlands with a new concept store on the up and coming van Olden-barneveltstraat street in Rotterdam. This new store will carry a wide selection of men’s, women’s and accessories from Filippa K – known for a distinct Scandinavian design style that combines minimal urban elegance with high fashion.
Designed by longtime Filippa K collaborator Aaro Arkitekter, the 130 m2 store is all about light and space – with clean horizontal lines and playful contrasts between depth and surfaces. There is a sophisticated, minimalist elegance to the space, juxtaposed with decorative de- tails and natural materials to create a peaceful ambience of style, simplicity and quality. The subdued white walls, clean Cyrian surfaces and white Carrera marble floors has been carefully combined with sensual elements like natural sisel hemp and soft grey wool.
The Netherlands has become Filippa K’s largest market outside of Scandinavia and the company plans to further continue its expansion in the Netherlands. In addition to the concept stores in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, the company is already looking at the Hague. Filippa K is also represented by some 76 selected retailers throughout the Netherlands.
“Holland is one of our most important markets outside of Scandinavia and a key priority in terms of growth. The store in Rotterdam is a natural follow up on our success in Amsterdam. The store itself clearly reflects the Filippa K design principles of timeless simplicity with contemporary edge,” says Jan Carl Adelswärd, CEO.
The new store is opened to the public on van Oldenbarneveldstraat 95 and tonight there will be an exclusive opening event for specially selected guests from the Rotterdam fashion, media, music and art scene.
