Looking for a Rucksack

I just can’t enjoy a day of shopping if I have a bag weighing down my shoulder and causing my neck muscles to strain – anybody recognise the feeling?

I have discovered that I love the feeling of having both my arms free and the weight squarely on my back, so I need a rucksack! Finding a rucksack is no easy job, when in Paris last time I bought another one of the only one I’ve ever managed to like, or find for that matter, a small nylon rucksack from Hervé Chapelier, they’ve been making them for over 15 years.

Strange that there’s no one else doing it, making a chic good looking rucksack…. it shouldn’t be too stiff and bulky which is sometimes the case when one happens upon one of the rare rucksacks in leather. I know there are a lot of work rucksacks for laptops and files and stuff but they are so boring. I want something that looks good and has certain femininity to it.

I wonder whether I am one of the very few that want a rucksack or if this is an example of a golden opportunity for Filippa K to create one? Easier said than done though, it’s very hard to design something like that and get just the right balance between elegance, sportiness and function – but I’m willing to try. I’ll keep you posted on this!
